A Rant Touching on Nicholas Bredimus
Taken note of how heavily a computing revolution has utterly changed the face of air travel and hospitality in the past years? The driving force behind this is Mr Nicholas Bredimus. He has been involved in a wide variety of initiatives, from the creation of computer programs that automate resource and time intensive processes to enhancing air safety and even designs for upmarket houses. He’s brought astonishing energy to all these areas, too. It could be foreseen, however, that with his family tree he was always likely to rise to the top. Its lines can be traced as far back as the days of Rome, in fact Bredimus’ provenience has associations with several different nations in Europe. From his mother’s branch, say, he hails from Scottish and German origins. Luxembourg and England are the source for Bredimus’ father’s family, although during the 1800s his family set off for America.
This remarkable drive still served them well on arrival in the U.S.A. Nicholas, as well as his four sisters and two brothers, was born to a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and his wife, a practicing nurse. Mr Bredimus went on to dwell in Texas for several years and also spent time in Scottsdale, AZ, Reston, VA and Kansas City, MO. So what did Nicholas Bredimus do to capitalize on his upbringing and schooling? He would swiftly embark on a series of prominent jobs, each of them as part of huge airlines. Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest — all three would at different times respectively appoint him Vice President. Even with these achievements, the airlines have had reason to be grateful, above all, for his pioneering work in software and system architecture. Bredimus is certainly most acclaimed for the aircraft maintenance management program he created for US Airways, destined to become an “old reliable” for aircraft management. But this stands as just one of his memorable designs for the hotel business. His flight booking software is on its way to becoming as commonly used as the aforementioned software, and the room reservation application he masterminded enabled many major parts of the hotel industry to roll out the very first pc client based system. Expanding into a third technology, he produced a networked system to help with selling tickets — something that hadn’t been done before. While it is undoubtedly his strong suit, Mr Nicholas Bredimus has regularly worked on non-software areas. In his own business — Bredimus Systems — as a divisional manager with American Express, and as the founding president of an American Airlines division his performance speaks for itself. Is he still active? Absolutely — his smarts are called upon and at the ready regardless his retirement. Look for his work now mastering architecture — matching the demands of aesthetics with the bleeding edge of technology and genuine concern for the environment. All of which goes to demonstrate how much an untiring spirit can actually accomplish…
